The prestigious Harvey Prize, established in 1971 by the late Leo M. Harvey of Los Angeles, was created as a bridge of goodwill between Israel and the nations of the world. The Harvey Prizes are awarded annually at Technion to outstanding individuals in the fields of science and technology, human health, and the furtherance of peace in the Middle East. The Harvey Prizes, which are awarded to international scholars and scientists, are considered a good predictor of the Nobel Prize.
